This is not therapy.

It’s not motivation. And it’s not a generic programme or blueprint.

ONTO is a way of operating.

It’s designed for people who already have success, and want to remove the subtle behaviours, patterns, and energy leaks that stop them operating at their best.

If you are looking for reassurance, reflection without action, or a space to talk things through indefinitely, this won’t be the right fit.

This work is built for movement.

The principles that govern the work.

The work is guided by a small number of non-negotiable principles.

These are not techniques.
They are standards.

  • Frankness over politeness
  • Avoiding the truth doesn’t make it go away. It just delays progress.

  • Responsibility over reassurance
  • Being understood is not the same as being effective.

  • Action over analysis
  • Insight without behaviour change is noise.

  • Energy before optimisation
  • Decision quality degrades when energy is mismanaged.

  • Authority before performance
  • How you operate internally determines how you lead externally.

Everything in the work refers back to these.

How the work actually unfolds.

There is no fixed curriculum or one-size-fits-all.

The work moves at the pace of:

  • Your ambition
  • What you’re avoiding
  • What matters most
  • What will create leverage now

Conversations are direct.
Patterns are named.
Excuses are challenged – especially the sophisticated ones.
Decisions are clarified.
Actions are agreed.

Progress is reviewed in behaviour, not intention.

This isn’t about doing more.
It’s about operating differently.

Judgement – clearly defined.

Being “non-judgemental” is often described as a feature coaching. I believe that elite
thinkers want judgement. Just better, non-emotive, non-reactive judgement.

Dave does not suspend judgement.
It is used responsibly.

By judgement, I don’t mean:

  • Moral evaluation
  • Criticism
  • Telling you what to think

I mean qualified human judgement. The kind that comes from:

  • Qualified phycology coaching
  • Operating inside pressure
  • Working in partnership with clients
  • Lived experience
  • Seeing the same patterns repeat
  • Understanding consequences, trade-offs, and second-order effects

At times, the work is purely coaching – questions, reflection, self-discovery.

At other times, it is directive.

Because when you already operate at a high level, there are moments where:

  • You don’t need another question
  • You need perspective
  • You need a line drawn
  • You need someone to say,

“This is the thing you’re avoiding – and here’s why it matters.”

That balance – between coaching and judgement – is intentional.

Your role. My role.

This work only functions when roles are clear.

Your role:

  • Be honest – especially when it’s uncomfortable
  • Take responsibility for action
  • Test ideas in the real world
  • Bring energy, not excuses

My role:

  • Challenge thinking that no longer serves you
  • Offer judgement where experience matters
  • Hold the line on standards
  • Prevent drift, rationalisation, and polite self-deception

I have seen how “smart collusion” can hinder progress. Together we will be avoiding
the temptation of intelligent explanations replacing honest action.

This is not a collaborative fog. It’s an adult partnership.

Why this works for you.
High performers don’t struggle because they lack
ambition or intelligence

They struggle because:

  • Politeness delays hard conversations
  • Success creates blind spots
  • Responsibility increases while energy erodes
  • Excuses become more convincing

ONTO works because it removes:

  • Smart collusion
  • Comfort-first conversations
  • Endless processing

And replaces them with:

  • Clarity
  • Authority
  • Deliberate action

How to start.

Most people start with the letter.

It’s where I share the thinking, standards, and principles behind the work, privately
and without performance.

If it resonates, a conversation usually follows.

If you’re already clear, or more curious, we can talk.

A note on conversations

I enjoy this work, and I enjoy speaking with people who are serious about it.

I don’t run timed sales calls or forced discovery sessions.

If we talk, it’s a considered conversation, not a pitch.

If you’re serious about operating differently, I’m always open to a conversation.

Reach out when you’re ready.
